Famolares were the shoes to have in the seventies. I wanted them, my mom wouldn’t let me have them, but 30 years later—I got ‘em! It turns out that the company has remade the original design (with the wavy bottoms), and one of the only places you can get them is at Shooz, in Chelsea. There are several styles (my pair is shown here), but not much inventory, so if you want them, act soon before it’s too late.
$130 at Shooz, 128 Seventh Ave., near 17th St.; 212-727-7446.
