Time looks and feels like an expanded diner with its Formica tables, checkered tile floor and neon-ringed clock, but the food has serious New American aspirations. Nothing is particularly memorable (except the occasionally bad service), but as a last-minute meeting place it's affordable and agreeable—which often means surprisingly crowded. It's an easy date package, too, with the Fez lounge and live music right downstairs. — Christina Nunez
