Well-heeled women over 30 come to A Uno’s two downtown boutiques for wearable basics and accessories from primarily European designers. Organized by color and hanging on simple, wrought-iron rods, the offerings here tend away from trends. Instead, they lean more toward evergreen slouchy knits and breathable fibers fit for weekends and the casual workplace. You’ll find plenty of pieces from Pierantonio Gaspari’s knitwear line, like wide-weave ponchos in vibrant jewel tones, as well as slim-fitting shells and cardigans. You’ll also find linen caftans by the Belgian designer Sarah Pacini, but the bulk of retail space is taken up by Marithé + François Girbaud’s breathable sportswear, which includes un-constructed, stretchy slip dresses and pants. You can finish the look with a Venetian glass beaded necklace by Maria Caldera or one of Tentazione Due’s buttery leather sacs.
SalesSeason end clearance sales in January and August.
