Yes, there have been periods when the store has skewed toward the twinset-and-pearls crowd, but BG always snaps back. And never more beautifully than in the past few years. The handbag department is one of the city’s best, with Chloé, Jimmy Choo, and coveted British brands like Mulberry. The two shoe departments—one for Manolos et al.; the other for less pricey names like Marc by Marc Jacobs—are well-dressed mob scenes. The views over Central Park somehow soften the pain of exceeding your credit limit, again.
