Japanese cult director Takashi Miike has mined the unpredictable for so long that his latest, a crazed Japanese take on the spaghetti Western, loses most of its energy as soon as the viewer grasps its initially novel concept. That said, overdubbing all the lines uttered by the cast, including Quentin Tarantino, is an inspired touch.
