Votive candles, exposed-brick walls, and leather couches give this basement dive an unassuming feel. So what’s with the T-shirts for sale? Those would be the work of designer and bar owner Pete Wentz, better known as Fall Out Boy’s "Page Six"–courting bassist. Formerly the Orchid Lounge, his reappropriated spot did not, thankfully, undergo a radical emo transformation. It's still a scuzzy, unfinished room with a jukebox featuring Fugazi, Quicksand, and, yes, Fall Out Boy. If Angels & Kings has bragging rights as a domain for parties thrown by Wentz’s scene buddies like Piebald and Cobra Starship, it's also got its fair share of celebrity fallout with Kentucky fangirls in Capri sweatpants loitering in search of a shriek-worthy moment. — Amos Barshad
