Alexandre Herchcovitch

The Label
Since launching the collection in 1994, Brazilian-born Alexandre Herchcovitch has never compromised his vision, be it the freaky constructions of molded rubber and gargantuan sequins from his early years or the aggressively cheerful floral frocks he’s favored of late. The designer has branded his own signature quirky chic, and he branches out in equally interesting ways. Last year, he redesigned the uniform for McDonald’s employees in Brazil. Herchcovitch wares are loud, brash, and always fun to watch—or wear, depending on how fashion-forward you are.
The Look
Colorful cool wrapped in impeccable tailoring. Those afraid of pattern and print should not apply.
The Designer
Herchcovitch got his first media break when an S&M outfit he made for a drag queen made São Paolo news. After graduating from art and fashion schools, he showed his first collection during Rio’s Fashion Week, followed by London’s and Paris’s, before settling on New York’s runways in 2004.
